Early this morning, I was walking alone along the beach when something unusual caught my attention.
At first, I thought it was simply a piece of driftwood or debris left behind by the tide.Dictionaries & Encyclopedias
But something about it didn’t look right.
I took one step closer.
Then another.
The sand around it was still dark and wet, even though the tide had already moved farther down the shore. It almost looked as though the water had recently surrounded it before quietly pulling away.
Curiosity got the better of me.
As I moved closer, I noticed something I hadn’t seen from a distance.

Not dramatically.
Just a slow, gentle motion that made me stop in my tracks.
For a moment, I wasn’t sure what I was looking at.
The object had an unusual surface, almost translucent in certain places, catching the early morning light in a way that made it appear almost glass-like. Beneath that surface, faint shadows seemed to shift.
