New York University’s Greenwich Village campus was expecting to welcome a very special student this September 2025. Barron Trump, son of the former US president, was due to begin his sophomore year at the Stern School of Business. However, to everyone’s surprise, the 19-year-old was nowhere to be seen on campus, fueling much speculation. According to several security personnel, Barron may have been transferred to another location within the university’s extensive network, though it remains unclear which one.

This absence is all the more intriguing given that Barron Trump is no ordinary student. Born in 2006, he is the only child of Donald Trump and Melania. Nicknamed ‘Little Donald’, he had already made history by becoming the youngest occupant of the White House at just 10 years old. Since then, he has always maintained a certain discretion, although he was noticed during his father’s presidential campaigns. Today, it is his absence that is causing a stir, and the reasons for this discretion remain unclear.

According to the New York Post, Barron Trump is attending classes this semester at another NYU campus. This information, while not confirmed by the university or the First Lady’s office, raises many questions. Indeed, New York University has a global network with campuses in Brooklyn, Abu Dhabi, Shanghai, Los Angeles, and Washington, D.C. The young Trump could therefore be anywhere, and this uncertainty fuels the rumors.

Speculation is rife regarding the reason for this campus change. Some suggest that Barron may have moved abroad for a few months, taking advantage of the Stern School of Business’s international exchange program. However, this program is generally reserved for third- and fourth-year students, making this hypothesis unlikely. Others believe that this change could be a strategy by Melania Trump to protect her son.

Indeed, Melania Trump is reportedly particularly vigilant about Barron’s safety. According to a source close to the First Lady, she constantly monitors her son to ensure that no one bothers or harasses him. This constant concern for Barron’s safety could explain why he was transferred to another campus, away from prying eyes. This hypothesis seems all the more plausible given that Melania is said to have increased her vigilance for the start of the 2025 school year.
