Prince William and Catherine, Princess of Wales, have publicly addressed the continuing revelations surrounding the Jeffrey Epstein files, saying they are “deeply concerned” and that their thoughts remain focused on the victims.
The statement, issued through a Kensington Palace spokesperson on February 9, 2026, marked the couple’s first public comment on the controversy. The spokesperson said: “I can confirm the Prince and Princess have been deeply concerned by the continuing revelations. Their thoughts remain focused on the victims.”
The comments came as renewed attention focused on Andrew Mountbatten-Windsor, formerly known as Prince Andrew, whose connections to Jeffrey Epstein have once again come under intense scrutiny following the release of additional documents by U.S. authorities. The latest material has generated fresh questions about Andrew’s past relationship with Epstein.
A Rare Statement From William and Kate
William and Kate had previously remained publicly silent about the latest developments. Their decision to comment was therefore notable, particularly as the scandal continued to create pressure around the British royal family.
Rather than discussing individual allegations or commenting directly on Andrew’s conduct, the couple’s statement focused on the victims of Epstein’s abuse. Their spokesperson did not provide further details about what actions William and Kate might support or whether they had personally reviewed the newly released documents.
