On July 13, 2024, then-presidential candidate Donald Trump was shot and wounded during a campaign rally in Butler, Pennsylvania, in what the FBI described as an attempted assassination.
The Incident
As Trump was speaking, multiple shots were fired from the roof of a nearby building. One bullet grazed his right ear, causing visible bleeding. Secret Service agents immediately surrounded him and rushed him off the stage. Before leaving, Trump raised his fist and shouted, “Fight!”—an image that became one of the defining photographs of the 2024 presidential campaign.
The Victims
The attack resulted in:
Donald Trump being wounded in the right ear.
Corey Comperatore, a 50-year-old firefighter attending the rally, being killed while shielding his family.
Two other spectators suffering serious injuries.
