Angel Reese has turned one of her most recognizable nicknames into a lasting piece of pop culture.
The WNBA star is now the latest athlete to receive her own Barbie doll, as Mattel unveiled a collectible inspired by Reese ahead of the league’s All-Star Weekend. The release celebrates her growing influence beyond basketball and recognizes her impact across sports, fashion and philanthropy.
For Reese, the honor carries personal meaning.
“It truly feels like me,” Reese said. “This is a dream come true. It’s a full-circle moment.”

The doll reflects many of Reese’s signature looks. It features a pink basketball uniform, her trademark headband, a single leg sleeve and accessories inspired by her personal style. Mattel also partnered with Reebok on a Barbie-themed version of Reese’s signature basketball shoe, extending the collaboration beyond the collectible itself.
Reese first embraced the “Bayou Barbie” nickname during her standout college career at LSU. Since then, she has transformed the moniker into a personal brand recognized throughout women’s basketball.
