Lidia had been a familiar customer at the local butcher shop for years. She usually purchased small amounts of meat and lived a quiet, modest life.
That changed unexpectedly when she began arriving at the shop early each morning and asking for an unusually large order—around 60 kilograms of beef.People & Society
Ovidiu, the butcher, was surprised by the request. Lidia explained that her son had supposedly come to visit and that she was preparing a large family meal. Although the explanation seemed unusual, he completed the order.
Later that day, however, Ovidiu learned something that made the situation more difficult to understand: Lidia’s son had reportedly died several years earlier.
The following morning, Lidia returned and purchased another large quantity of meat. She repeated the visit again the next day.
