The surge in oil and gas prices linked to the conflict is already beginning to weigh on the global economy. In France, INSEE (the National Institute of Statistics and Economic Studies) recorded a price increase of 0.9% in February and then 1.7% in March. The gap between the spectacle and the reality is widening.

Faced with record fuel prices in the United States, Donald Trump repeatedly claims that the end of the conflict is near, saying that it has already passed in “two or three weeks.” Gasoline is nearing $4 a gallon (approximately €3.70), while he refers to it as a “very small price to pay,” Euronews reported .
In the Senate, Claude Malhuret, a member of the Horizons party, called the American president a “dangerous madman,” comparing him to Vladimir Putin, as reported by 20 Minutes . He quoted a Turkish proverb: “When a clown moves into a palace, he doesn’t become king. It’s the palace that becomes a circus.” Then he added: “There is no strategy.”
