Donald Trump has sought to reassure the public about his health after spending more than three hours at Walter Reed National Military Medical Center for a medical examination.
The visit, which took place in May while Trump was still 79, drew attention because of the president’s age and the continuing public discussion surrounding the health and stamina of America’s oldest president. The White House described the appointment as a series of preventive medical and dental examinations.
After leaving the medical center, Trump offered his own assessment of the results, saying that everything had checked out “PERFECTLY.” His comments were intended to put concerns about his health to rest and reinforce his message that he remains capable of carrying out the demanding responsibilities of the presidency.
The appointment was the fourth publicly disclosed medical examination Trump had undergone since returning to the White House for his second term. The length of the visit nevertheless attracted attention, particularly because detailed results from the examination were not immediately made public.
